Coming again December 2009. Featuring the artwork of members of the International Gallery of Contemporary Art.
The Ken Gray Award, represented by a bronzed oil can from the personal collection of the late Ken Gray, one of the founders of the International Gallery of Contemporary Art, was established to encourage the contributions of individuals to the arts. The award honors and recognizes exceptional lifetime contributions to the arts and advocacy of the arts. It does not just recognize art production, but rather focuses on one person’s efforts to make the arts accessible to the community.
Previous recipients of the award include:
Ken Gray
David Felker
John Blaine
Don Decker
Wanda Seamster
Barry McWayne
Pat Wolf
Site/Sight is a program to feature design outside the gallery walls. At least four times annually tours are organized to take participants to locations, whether public, private or residential, that feature outstanding architectural design and/or visual art. The tours are a collaboration with the Alaska Design Forum (www.alaskadesignforum.org).
The biggest annual Site/Sight event is on NEW YEAR'S EVE. Join us as we visit three or four private homes featuring great architecture, live poetry readings, food, wine & champagne. Bus transportation between homes provided (by school bus!)
